Our Story & Team

A beacon of hope and healing in Uganda's mental health landscape, dedicated to evidence-based, compassionate psychotherapy.

Who We Are

A Sanctuary for Healing and Growth

Okori Psychotherapeutic Centre stands as a beacon of hope and healing in Uganda's mental health landscape. We are a specialized mental health clinic dedicated to providing professional, compassionate, and accessible psychotherapy services to children, adolescents, adults, and families.

Our name, "Okori," reflects our commitment to being a source of light and guidance for those navigating the often challenging path of mental health and neurodevelopmental conditions. We believe that every individual deserves the opportunity to live a fulfilling, emotionally balanced, and meaningful life.

Located within Goodwill Medical Associates on Old Butabika Road, Kampala, we serve our community with integrated, comprehensive care as the standard, not the exception.

Our Vision

To be a leading centre of excellence in psychological and neurodevelopmental therapies across Uganda and East Africa, empowering children and adults to achieve emotional well-being, independence, and a fulfilling life.

Our Mission

Okori Psychotherapeutic Centre is dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based, and individualized psychotherapeutic care for children and adults with psychological and neurodevelopmental disorders.

Our Founding Story

Born From a Recognised Need

Okori Psychotherapeutic Centre was born from a recognised need in the Kampala community. Our founders — a group of experienced mental health professionals — observed a significant gap in specialised services that addressed both psychological conditions and neurodevelopmental conditions under one roof.

Too often, families were forced to navigate fragmented care, bouncing between different specialists without cohesion or continuity. Children with autism were seen separately from their parents' anxiety. Adults with ADHD couldn't find specialists who understood the full picture. Families in grief had nowhere to turn as a unit.

In response, Okori was established as a centre where integrated, comprehensive care is the standard, not the exception. We bring together diverse expertise in a collaborative environment, ensuring that every client receives well-rounded support that addresses their complete picture.
